Learning Café Hobart – A community of Learning and Development professionals

Learning and Development and Knowledge Management

The Learning Café is a community of experienced learning and development professionals who are interested in unhindered and frank discussions about current issues and trends in learning, performance and knowledge management, as well as their application at work.

The Learning Café was organised in response to a lack of opportunities for quality discussion. The community was founded by Jeevan Joshi from Knowledge Working in Sydney

The essence of Learning Cafe is an informal once-a-month 1-hour gathering of experienced learning professionals. In addition there is webinars, the blog and unconference events, which link the community together nationally. Past monthly themes have including:

  • Internal Expertise – Finding, Sharing and Growing.
  • Does Learning Spend Disproportionate Effort on Leadership Development?
  • Making Learning Evaluation Work – Lessons from Marketing.

Learning Cafes are organised in Sydney CBD, North Ryde, Brisbane and Hobart.

The community includes members from AMP, Blake Dawson, the Department of Health and Human Services, Hobart City Council, Hydro Tasmania, WestPac and RBF.

Sprout Lab organises the Hobart events.
