  • Consider the learning outcomes/end result you are after and craft your forum topic with this in mind.
  • Give clear instruction, take care when using jargon.
  • Construct the task with a logical sequencing of steps for participants to follow, provide example where needed and don’t make the task too difficult or the discussion may go off track in an unhelpful direction.
  • Be explicit and clear in what you are requiring participants to do.
  • Ask a colleague to read your crafted task and ask them how they think it reads? Do they understand what is required of them?
